Make Your Activity Available To Anyone Who Wants To Join You
When you share an activity with everyone, you basically have to
wait for someone to notice you have shared your activity. If no one is
checking the neighborhood for shared activities, no one will ever join you.
To make your activity available to anyone who wants to join you
follow these steps. We'll use the Write activity in our example but this
approach will work with any activity that supports sharing.
-
Begin by launching the activity that you'd like to share:

-
Choose the Activity menu/tab at the top of the window to see
all the activity related commands:

-
Click on the "Share with:" button and choose, "My
Neighborhood":

-
Now just wait. It's kind of like fishing. You
have to wait for the fish to bite! You also have to stay with the
activity you're sharing (just like you can't leave your fishing pole).
If you launch another activity, you won't see any indication that someone
has joined the activity you've shared. They're likely to join, see no
activity, and then leave again without you knowing.
Others in your neighborhood
will see your icon displayed
along with the icon for the activity you are sharing in their Neighborhood
view (that's them in the center of the window and you in the upper left
corner along with your Write activity icon):

-
Strange, but your shared activity doesn't appear in
their Friends view
:

-
Anyway, passing the mouse cursor over the icon shows the
name of the icon:

-
They only need to click on the activity icon and it will
begin to launch in their activity ring:

-
In the case of the Write activity, now both persons can type
into the same document:

-
... and see each other's typing:

-
Either person can stop sharing by simply exiting from the
activity.
