Invite Someone Specific To Join Your Activity
When you invite someone to share your activity, that individual
will receive an invitation. Whether they see it will depend on whether
they happen to display their home view - the one with the activity bar at the
bottom of the screen. It would be better if they received a pop-up message
in their current activity but that's not yet a capability of the Sugar operating
system.
To invite someone specific to join your activity follow these
steps. We'll use the Chat activity in our example but this approach will
work with any activity that supports sharing.
- Begin by launching the activity you'd like to share:

- Choose someone to invite to the activity from your friends view
:

- Or... invite someone from the neighborhood view
:

- Now return to the activity and wait for them to join you.
The friend that you invite will see a special activity icon appear at the
left most position the activity bar of their Home view. This is where
the process gets a bit shaky. First they have to display their Home
view and second, they have to position their activity bar so that they can
see the left-most activity icon. But if you get lucky, they will see a
special version of the activity icon that you are sharing. It will
look like the normal icon for that activity but it will take on the XO
colors of the person who is doing the inviting:

- Your friend must now click on that icon. It will start to launch
in their activity ring:

- When the activity launches, what they see will depend on the activity.
The Chat activity looks like this for the invited friend. It shows that you
are ready to chat:

- And your Chat window shows that your friend has joined and is ready to
chat:

- Either person can end the shared activity by closing the activity.
