Frequently Asked Questions
- What to do when my preview window looks collapsed?
The first time you request a preview of a printout, you may see the
preview window looking collapsed like this:
.
Just click the Maximize button to the left of the red Close button.
This will cause the window to expand to take up the entire screen.
Unfortunately, your document will appear only as a tiny thumbnail image in
the center of the screen like this:
So click next on the magnifying button at the top of the window:
.
Your document will expand to display properly in the window. Make
further adjustments and close the window. The next time you open the
window it will display the way you last displayed it and at the
magnification you last used.
- What files do I need to back up to ensure the safety of my database?
All information of any significance is kept in a file called SLD.mdb which is located
in your Shopping List Deluxe folder (probably C:\Program Files\Shopping List
Deluxe 2\). In addition, each time you
close/exit from Shopping List Deluxe, a backup copy of your database is created. It has the name SLD.bak. You can copy SLD.mdb or SLD.bak to another location to preserve your data.
If you want to use SLD.bak as a database again, you have to first change its name
to SLD.mdb.
- How do I move the database to another computer so I can run SLD2 there?
You must first install Shopping List Deluxe on the second computer. Once it is installed, copy the SLD.mdb file in your
Shopping List Deluxe folder (probably C:\Program Files\Shopping List Deluxe
2\) from your first
computer to the second computer. Click "OK" when asked if it is
OK to
overwrite the existing SLD.mdb file. If you auto-load a MasterCook shopping list
file, make sure that the necessary folder where it would be found has been created on the
second computer and that that file is in place. Now start up Shopping
List Deluxe on the second
computer your data will look just as it does on the first computer.
- I've just accidentally deleted something important and there's no way to Undo it,
what can I do?
Don't close Shopping List Deluxe. Go to the main
Shopping List Deluxe window. Select File => Exit Without Updating Database. Now
restart Shopping List Deluxe. You will be returned to the state you were in before
the last time you ran Shopping List Deluxe.
- I see a column called "Brand" but I can't figure out how to set it for
a list item.
There is no way to set the brand of a list item in the current version of
Shopping List Deluxe.
That capability will come in a future version - probably the same version where
Shopping List Deluxeprovides coupon support.
Go to Shopping List Deluxe Home Page
